Staying up late on a regular basis does nobody any favours.
I am currently taking tiny steps towards figuring out My Big Why in business. What is it that makes me get up in the morning each day, feeling motivated and full of beans to fulfill another client’s brief with pizazz and flair?
Yet as my confidence and motivation within the business increases, so does my ability to push the boundaries of possibility that little bit further.
Last night I was up until the early hours, working to fix website nav bar issues. I eventually gave in when I got to the point of wondering what I was trying to prove, and to whom (!), with wanting to complete my task on that day, when no other would do.
Needless to say, my website sort-out is on tomorrow’s agenda now, which means it will get done in half the time and effort that doing 20% of the task took last night. I eventually saw the light and turned in when my mind started to drift to questions about “what web page I needed to amend? which web page I had just amended, and which folder I needed to go to again?”
When my eyeballs finally caught fire and my arm went numb, I recognised that it was time to shut down.
And breathe…
